World's largest floating solar power plant to come up in Madhya Pradesh

  • The world's largest floating solar energy project, in Madhya Pradesh will begin power generation by year 2022-23. 
  • The project is to be constructed at Omkareshwar dam on Narmada river in Khandwa district.
  • It has a capacity of  600 MW. 
  • It's a MP State government project.
  • Aid for developing the project will come from: International Finance Corporation, World Bank and Power Grid. 
  • India completed the primary feasibility study of the project in collaboration with the World Bank.
