- The World Economic Forum and its annual meeting in Davos are criticised regarding the public cost of security, the formation of a wealthy global elite without attachment to the broader societies, undemocratic decision processes, gender issues and a lack of financial transparency.

- The theme "The Great Reset" represents a commitment to jointly and urgently build the foundations of the global economic and social system for a more fair, sustainable and resilient future.
- The meeting aims at connecting key global governmental and business leaders in Davos with a global multi-stakeholder network in 400 cities around the world for a forward-oriented dialogue driven by the younger generation.
- The Forum has scheduled an extraordinary meeting this year in Singapore, that will take place between May 13 and 16
