India's first lithium refinery in Gujarat
- India’s first Lithium refinery will be set up in Gujarat.
- It will process Lithium ore to produce battery-grade material.
- Manikaran Power Limited, one of the country’s largest power trading and renewable energy company will invest over ₹1,000 crore to set up this refinery.
- The company is exploring Sanand and Dholera, in Gujarat to set up this refinery.
- The company will import Lithium ore from Australia and process it in India.

- Lithium is the lightest metal and the least dense solid element.
- The most important use of Lithium is as a component of high energy-density rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.
